The Australasian and international Conference for Woodfired and other ceramic arts
will celebrate the triennial gathering of the tribe;
its stalwarts and its newcomers, under Sunshine Coast skies
in balmy June/July 2017
Enjoy a Potters’ Party hosted by Queensland woodfirers, featuring clay, music, food and fire.
This conference will have at its heart, wood fired ceramics, but will not be confined to potters who throw wood in a kiln. It will be about the aesthetics of this vast genre and feature guest artists from Pan-Pacific and Indigenous nations.
Smoke on the Water – A Potter’s Party
The venue is the iconic Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre and precinct, in charming Cooroy township.
Next door is Noosa, famous for its natural landscape, arts, surf culture and as an international holiday destination.
The conference will run for four days. Before and after will be workshops, firings conducted by influential international and Australian ceramic artists, and studio and gallery visits. Make your own holiday. Organisers will take no responsibility for when the party begins and ends.
